Chicago, Virginia Beach, and Now Hong Kong

Back to back to back to back tournaments! Vegas to Chicago to Virginia Beach, and now Hong Kong.

I had a great time at the PPA Tour Veolia Chicago Cup in Northbrook, Illinois, playing with Max and Mari. It was indoors, which was really nice. Max and I had a great win over Catherine Parenteau and Riley Newman, 1-11, 11-8, 12-10. Mari and I took Hurricane Tyra Black and Catherine to three games in women's doubles.

Cason and I then headed to Virginia Beach for the PPA Tour Mojo Energy Pouches Virginia Beach Open, where we met up with my parents. I played with Meghan Dizon and Armaan Bhatia, and Meghan and I made it to the semifinals!

My mom and I were supposed to head to Hong Kong on Saturday, but our semifinals run and the rain threw everything off. We were scrambling to find a new flight. Luckily we found one, and we're on our way to Hong Kong now.

Vegas Recap: Semifinals, Sweat, and Good Food

Vegas was a good one! Still hot, still sweaty, but it's always fun going to Vegas because of the food. With the new PPA schedule we didn't have a lot of time to go out, but my dad and I found an Asian food court near our Airbnb and it was really good.

On the court, I had a great time playing with Max and Alexa. Alexa and I made it to the round of 16 in women's doubles, and I made my first semifinals in singles! I lost to Kiora. I won the first game, but she played great and took the next two. Next time!

I'm in Chicago now and it's finally a lot cooler. We're playing indoors, so the heat and sun won't matter regardless. I'll be playing with Max Freeman and Mari Humberg again.

Arizona Recap: Heat, Rain, and Round of 16

Mesa is a wrap! Had such a great time out there playing with Liz and Max again. Another hot one, obviously, at this point I think I'm just going to expect that every tournament. But this one actually threw us a curveball: it rained one day, which never happens out there, and we had to finish my women's doubles match the next morning instead.

Results-wise, I made it to the round of 16 in both singles and women's doubles. Liz and I had some trouble handling middle balls in that one and honestly felt like we had a real shot to take it if we'd gotten another crack at it. Still, a lot to build on there.

Next up is Vegas next week. I'll be back with Max in mixed, and starting a new partnership with Alexa Schull in women's doubles. Excited for it!

Heading to Mesa for Round Two

Packing up again, this time for Mesa, Arizona for my second PPA tournament of the season. Back on the left side in mixed with Max Freeman, and playing women's doubles with Liz Truluck for the second time.

They've got matches starting around 2:30 to try to dodge the worst of the heat, but it's still gonna be brutal out there either way. Guess I'm just built for hot pickleball this year lol.

I played this same tournament last year too, back in February when it was way cooler. Definitely not complaining about the weather back then. Crazy how much has changed since I played this event last time, I wasn't even signed with PPA yet. Can't wait to be back.

Nationals Recap: Hot, Humid, and a Lot of Firsts

Nationals in Cary is officially in the books! Cary is north of us, so I figured it might be a little cooler than home, but the heat index was over 100 degrees most of the week. A lot of this tournament was just about staying cool and hydrated between matches on top of everything else.

This week was full of firsts for me. It was my first time playing mixed doubles on the left side, which took some adjusting but I really liked it by the end. I also played my first tournament partnering with Max Freeman in mixed and Callie Jo Smith in women's doubles, and both partnerships were a lot of fun to build from scratch. Results were a mixed bag across singles, women's doubles, and mixed, but I had a great time and learned a ton.

Next up is Arizona, where I'll be back with Max in mixed and teaming up with Liz Truluck in women's doubles, who I've played with once before. Can't wait!

Heading to Cary, NC for the Season Opener

Packing up and heading to Cary, North Carolina this Sunday for my first PPA tournament of the season. It's been a long off-season of training, and I'm ready to get back out on the court and see where the work has taken me.

I'll be playing Women's Doubles with Callie Jo Smith and Mixed Doubles with Max Freeman this week. Excited to team up with both of them and get the season started right. Wish us luck!

Officially a Six Zero Athlete

Excited to share that I've signed with Six Zero Pickleball. It's a big moment for me, and I couldn't be happier to be joining a brand that takes the game as seriously as I do.

I've been playing with the Coral Pro paddle for a while now, and it's quickly become my go-to. What I've noticed most is how much control it gives me on touch shots at the kitchen line without losing pop when I need to drive through a ball.
